Despite the title, the true well count figure is probably north of 69,280 wells.
69,280 is the cumulative sum of net completions since 1920 and since CVX 0.00%↑ was a descendant of The Trust there are pre-1920 years I am missing.
But the chart and data below is a pretty descent representation of the company’s drilling program for the last 100+ years.
